About Cochin Shipyard

Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) is an Indian company primarily engaged in shipbuilding and ship repair. It constructs and repairs various types of vessels, including upgrades and life extensions. CSL builds defense vessels like aircraft carriers and missile vessels, as well as commercial ships such as oil tankers and bulk carriers. The company also offers ship repair services for both defense and commercial vessels. CSL has worked with international technology firms and serves clients including the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and Shipping Corporation of India. The company is a Schedule B Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Shipping, with the Government of India holding 75% of its equity share capital. CSL has facilities in Kochi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, and has expanded into new areas such as hybrid electric vessels and autonomous barges.
